Class IIa MD

S14 — Qms against its standard

Complete eQMS

ISO 13485 without a blank page

SOPs, training records, CAPAs and internal audits pre-built to ISO 13485 and editable to how you work, with every document carrying an owner and a review date.

F66 — Traceability that builds itself

Complete eQMS

Traceable in both directions

Follow a requirement through to the release that delivered it, or start from a release and work back to the risks and design decisions behind it.

Explore
F67 — Capa open to closed

Audits, assurance & certification

Closed with the evidence attached

Log the event, run the investigation, record the corrective action and close it with evidence, connected to the release and the risk it relates to.

F45 — The years audit programme

Audits, assurance & certification

Walk into the assessment prepared

Internal audits, corrective actions and supplier records in one place, so preparing for an approved body is a checklist rather than three weeks of scrambling.

Explore
S13 — Risk file at a glance

Medical device risk management

A risk file that survives a release

ISO 14971 hazards, causes, controls and residual risk reviewed across the lifecycle rather than frozen at submission, with review dates and owners held.

F69 — The reporting decision recorded

Post-market surveillance

Reports on the schedule your class requires

Incidents, complaints and feedback in one record, with the MHRA reporting threshold decision and its reasoning kept whichever way it falls.

Benefits

Walk into your Approved Body audit prepared

Evidence that assembles rather than starts again

The quality system, the risk file and the design records feed the technical documentation, so the file is built from what you already hold.

S09 — Technical documentation part built

Expert help where you want it

Work with our team for ad-hoc advice or hands-on help building your technical file and clinical evaluation.

S18 — Specialist on clinical evaluation

Change impact you can see

A risk points at the version it affects, so when the product changes you can see which risks and documents need revisiting instead of reviewing everything.

Medical device risk management 01

Post-market obligations on a schedule

Surveillance activities, complaints and periodic review held with owners and dates, so nothing quietly lapses after approval.

S10 — Surveillance on a schedule

Frameworks

Mapped to other frameworks

Overlapping requirements and evidence are mapped across frameworks automatically, so you never do the same work twice.

What our customers say

VitVio

“We couldn't speak highly enough of both the Assuric team and the platform itself, which is incredibly easy to use, and with the skill and hardworking nature of the Assuric team. They've been a key component in accelerating our progress and deployments!”

Maks Kozarzewski

Accenture

“The Assuric platform is a game changer in the clinical risk management field. It has been carefully designed to make the job of a CSO significantly more streamlined. The team are excellent and responsive to any product suggestions I have requested, and it has been a pleasure to work with them.”

Paul Llewellyn

CCIO, Accenture

Tandem Health

“Assuric has been fantastic in helping us quickly and safely navigate regulatory compliance in the UK. From completing Cybersecurity requirements to DSPT, DCB0129, and DTAC, the team was supportive, extremely knowledgeable, and the platform made everything quick and straightforward. A separate regulatory company we consulted at the beginning even remarked on how quickly we achieved compliance!”

Director UK & Ireland, Tandem

Frequently asked questions

Three things. A UK Approved Body carries out the conformity assessment instead of you declaring conformity yourself. Your quality management system is certified and then audited, rather than simply documented. The technical documentation and clinical evaluation are examined by an assessor rather than held for inspection on request. Registration with the MHRA and the UKCA mark still apply, as they do at Class I.

An organisation designated by the MHRA to carry out conformity assessment against the Medical Devices Regulations 2002 for the Great Britain market. It is the UKCA equivalent of an EU notified body, and the two designations are separate. A body that is notified in the EU is not automatically approved in Great Britain, so check the designation your body actually holds and the classes and device types it covers.

In practice, yes. The conformity assessment routes at Class IIa and above require an approved body to assess your quality management system, and ISO 13485 is the standard used to demonstrate it. Certification is granted by the certification or approved body on the evidence you present. Assuric prepares and holds that evidence; the decision is theirs.

Your device description and intended purpose, design and manufacturing information, your risk management file, verification and validation evidence, clinical evaluation, labelling and instructions for use, and your post-market surveillance plan. The depth required increases with classification, and at Class III the design dossier itself is examined rather than sampled.

A clinical evaluation is required for every class, but what satisfies it changes with risk. At Class IIa it is often a critical appraisal of published literature and equivalence data supported by your own performance evidence. For Class III and implantable devices clinical investigation data is generally expected unless you can justify why existing data is sufficient. The evaluation has to be kept current as post-market data comes in.

Yes, in practice. Your technical documentation has to include a risk management file, and ISO 14971 is the accepted standard for showing how you identify, control and review device risk. At Class IIa an approved body examines that file, so it needs to reflect the current version of your product.

The work carries on after the conformity assessment. The approved body returns for surveillance audits while your software keeps changing. Your risk file, technical documentation and post-market records need to describe the product you ship now, so Assuric holds each of them with an owner and a review date.

Assuric holds your ISO 13485 quality system, ISO 14971 risk file and design records in one platform, so you prepare from evidence you already keep. Internal audits, CAPAs and supplier records sit alongside them, ready for an auditor to sample. The certification decision stays with the approved body.

Build the file once

Compliance now takes days or weeks depending on the framework, rather than months. Start with your classification, your conformity assessment route and what the quality system has to carry.
